This is when Goku fought Pikkon in Otherworld. At the very beginning of the fight, Goku powers up, creating a lightning aura. Now, there are two things to note. One, is that he is in Otherworld, and he states that his power is much easier to maintain and control. The second, is that we're never really even sure when Goku reaches SSJ2. Sure we see when he reaches the third form, but not the second. When better to reach it than when you're going up against an adversary that just destroyed Cell? That's something that Goku couldn't even do when he was FPSSJ, with a free fully charged Kamehameha catching him off guard.

I think Goku was SSJ2 when he fought Pikkon. Lightning aura is an inconsistency in the series.

Oh, and even with that all in mind, I still think Broly would win.

LOTS. LOTS. LOTS of times in the Anime do they put lightning around Super Saiyan 1.

Look at Goku's hair, he's definitely Super Saiyan 1.

Also, Goku hit Broly right in the face with a Kamehameha, too, and it did nothing, but, it hurt Pikkon?

Yet Pikkon easily wasted Cell.

Anime hurts my brain.

At first I was going to say Pikkon, but, Psyam's posts make sense, and I flip my vote over to Broly. Broly really cannot be hurt very easily, and he can regenerate wounds [since he never loses chi and the only way to hurt him AT ALL is to get an extremely high amount of power gathered at once and smash him with it so that it 1 hit kills him, if it doesn't kill him, he will survive]. I doubt Pikkon could get that much power at once. It takes MULTIPLE strong people at once to get all this power together.

One on One, Broly is nearly unstoppable. The only opponents who could defeat Broly one on one would be Gotenks, Janemba, Hirudegarn, and any SSj3. Basically, anybody OBVIOUSLY significantly more powerful than Broly. Broly may even be able to win one on one vs a Super Saiyan 2, since they are probably around the same power.

Pikkon is not as powerful as a Super Saiyan 2, and he never would be/could be, he is far less powerful, in fact. Broly would thrash him.
